How Cape to Coast Auctions Works: Our Consignment Process
Discover Cape to Coast Auctions’ consignment process — from pickup to payment. A simple, stress-free way to sell estate items in Citrus, Sumter & Marion counties. Step 1: Free Consultation & Item Review We start with a no-obligation consultation at your home or storage location. We evaluate the items you’d like to sell. We discuss market value, demand, and expected timelines. You receive a clear breakdown of our seller’s premium and what to expect. Tip: We accept everything from antiques and collectibles to household items, tools, jewelry, and more. Step 2: Item Pickup or On-Site Staging Once you’re ready to move forward: We schedule a pickup at your convenience. Larger estates may be photographed and cataloged on-site. Smaller consignments can be brought to our facility for sorting and preparation. Step 3: Photography & Cataloging Every lot gets: Professional photos with detailed descriptions. Accurate measurements and condition reports. Placement in our online auction platform where thousands of bidders browse. Step 4: Marketing Your Auction We market your items through: Email blasts to our buyer list. Hibid and other Auction sites. Facebook and Instagram promotions. Targeted ads to collectors and buyers in our service area. Featured listings on major auction networks. Step 5: Auction Day Bidders compete online, driving up your final prices. All bids close at a set time, with extended bidding for active lots. Step 6: Payment & Final Report Buyers pay within 72 hours. We handle payment processing and pickup coordination. Within 14 business days after the close of the auction and settlement of buyer accounts, you receive: Your seller proceeds (minus commission). A detailed report showing each lot’s hammer price.
